Morning at Braun Farm

I met up with Richie and April Braun out at their farm in Brownell, Kansas for what was originally planned as a full family session. When getting everyone together didn’t work out, we kept the date and shifted focus to a couples session instead.

From the moment I pulled up, I knew this place was going to photograph beautifully. The property is full of character—old rusty cars, weathered barn wood and tin, and a perfect blend of blue sky, green grass, and warm golden tones. Everywhere you look, there’s something interesting to work with.

We spent about 45 minutes walking the property, keeping things relaxed and natural. No pressure, just letting things unfold as they felt right. We mixed in some more creative, artsy shots along with candid and intimate moments that reflect who they are together.

It was a laid-back session that really captured their connection and the place they call home.

I’ll be heading back out in June to photograph the full family, and I’m looking forward to building on what we started out here.
