Lawrence, KS - Home Away From Home
Lawrence, Ks really is like a second home to me. A very special place. I lived there for over 15 years of my life. I had not been back since before the pandemic hit. In early June (2021) I got to stay with my family at their farm just outside of town. Oh yes, chickens, horses, beautiful scenery as far as the eye can see. But we also ventured to downtown often, eating at many of our favorite outdoor-friendly restaurants like Aladin's Cafe, Zen Zero and Merchant's. We even went several times for tacos at El Potro. I was lucky enough to hang out with a few old friends as well.
The last night of the trip I rented a corner suite at The Eldridge Hotel overlooking downtown. My family and I ordered Rudy's Pizza and ate it in the room while the kids played Nintendo. It was a great time. Staying at this particular hotel was something I'd always wanted to do because it has so much history and character. It was money well spent.
Well enough of my gabbin. Here are a handful of images I took with my iPhone as well as my Sony camera.
